Apple announces WWDC 2010, iPhone 4G debut expected

But firm officially keeps mum
Apple announces WWDC 2010, iPhone 4G debut expected

It's a testament to the hype that surrounds all Apple devices these days that not only do their official launches drum up press but also the conferences expected to detail those launches.

As such, the fact that Apple has revealed that this year's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) will take place in San Francisco from June 7th has been taken by many as a declaration of iPhone 4G's first big press reveal although Apple itself is currently remaining silent.

Indeed, the official line is that WWDC 2010 will focus on iPhone OS 4.0, the iPad's first ever development sessions and Mac OSX core technology labs.

Toeing the line

"This year's WWDC offers developers in-depth sessions and hands-on working labs to learn more about iPhone OS 4, the world's most advanced mobile operating system," offered senior VP of iPhone software Scott Forstall.

"WWDC provides a unique opportunity for developers to work side-by-side with Apple engineers and interface designers to make their iPhone and iPad apps even better.”

Of course, Apple is all about making its revelations front page news, so though it's yet to confirm iPhone 4G's appearance at WWDC 2010, that's where the smart money is going.
