Search specialist Mimvi launches games recommendation engine

Proclaiming games as the most dominant force in apps, discovery specialist Mimvi has launched a dedicated games search engine targeting key mobile marketplaces.

The new engine follows the same set up as its app search which Mimvi proclaims as one of the world's largest allowing users to scour the App Store, Android Market, BlackBerry App World, Windows Marketplace and Ovi store.

Searching with Mimvi seems to bring up results heavily biased towards either the App Store or Android Market Windows Phone 7 games, for instance, are seemingly absent, while Ovi results are equally rare.

Nevertheless, Mimvi's games portal is what the company describes as the first in a series of strategic vertical site announcements further focused brands of app search expected as the company moves forward.
