Miniclip, Matmi and Bossa talking at TIGA's Smartphone and Tablet Games conference

With mobile and tablet games the number 1 platform for UK developers, UK developers organisation TIGA has announced its own dedicated conference.

The one-day event will cover issues such as monetisation, discoverability and marketing, tools, IP protection, the legal issues around the F2P business model ( including children), and what's next for mobile.

TIGA says this sort of networking is vital given that 59 percent of UK studios have four or less staff, and that 29 percent of them went out of business during the past five years.

Speakers include Saad Choudri, VP business affairs at Miniclip; Jeff Coghlan MD at Matmi; Bossa Studios' co-founder Imre Jele; and Clive Roberts MD of DR Studios.

All together now

"TIGA is committed to supporting the UK's mobile gaming industry, which is becoming more important, and more challenging, every day. Events like this which share insight, best practice and facilitate networking are of huge value to startups in particular," commented TIGA CEO Richard Wilson.

"It's exciting times for mobile and tablet developers and publishers. However, if this sector of our industry is to fulfil its potential it is essential we continue to share best practice and information."

The conference will be held at IDEALondon on 18 September.

It's free for TIGA members and £40 for non-member developers. You can find more details here.
