It's not just Fiksu that's tracking the adoption rate of iOS 8.
Mobile monetisation outfit Tapjoy has also been tracking the changes.
Like Fiksu, on day 1 it seen a lower uptake rate than both iOS 7 and iOS 6, perhaps because of the high free space requirements that iOS 8 requires for installation.
18 hours post-launch, across Tapjoy's network of over 200 million unique iOS devices, around 6 percent had upgraded.
Wait and see
That compares with seven hours for iOS 7 to reach 10 percent adoption.
In terms of device segementation, surprisingly iPod touch is leading the charge with 7.7 percent adoption compared to 6.6 percent for iPhones and 4 percent of iPads.
Looking at adoption rates on a per country basis, South Korea is leading with over 14 percent, with the US at 9.4 percent, the UK at 8.5 percent and China at a mere 2 percent
You can compare Tapjoy's numbers with Fiksu's dynamic update, which is 23 hours after launch is showing an iOS 8 adoption rate of 10 percent.
