YoYo Games lifts the lid on community portal GameMaker: Player

YoYo Games has revealed GameMaker: Player, a new service for GameMaker: Studio that gives developers a place to share their games with other gamers, as well as YoYo Games' 1 million monthly visitors.

GameMaker: Player aims to help developers get from A to B with ease, giving them the ability to share concepts, explore early access builds, and distribute their titles on a number of marketplaces and platforms.

Any developer currently using the free or paid version of GameMaker: Studio will be able to make their games available for the Windows version of GameMaker: Player, though those looking to release on other platforms will need to purchase addition 'Pro' and 'Export' licenses.

Make, share, play

Sandy Duncan, CEO of YoYo Games, has described GameMaker: Player as a 'huge leap forward'.

"For as long as YoYo Games has been developing GameMaker, we have focused on providing everyone - from beginner to professional - with a simple and accessible solution that makes it easier for all to make, share and play their games," said Duncan.

"We are now taking a huge leap forward with the introduction of GameMaker: Player we’ve added brand new service that is extremely easy to use".

What do you call someone who has an unhealthy obsession with video games and Sean Bean? That'd be a 'Chris Kerr'. Chris is one of those deluded souls who actually believes that one day Sean Bean will survive a movie. Poor guy.
