Free events teach UK devs the future of gaming infrastructure

Developer and publisher network TIGA has joined forces with cloud infrastructure provider SoftLayer to host five UK developer events.

Designed to help devs prepare for industry changes and to meet local investors, all of “The Future Of Gaming Infrastructure” events will be free to attend.

Confirmed speakers so far include SoftLayer, Marmalade, Multiplay, and local game studios and business investors.

The tour will tackle topics such as opportunities in the cloud; how to deliver a crisis-free launch; coping with a downloads explosion; what “Everything as a service” means for game devs; how mobile strategy must change in the age of games as a service (GaaS); and more.

"Today's gamers expect developers to deliver a high-performance, always-on, graphically attractive, and seamless playing experience. Whilst this is extremely challenging, with the right knowledge and support, it is totally achievable,” said Divya Handa, regional marketing manager of SoftLayer.

"This new regional event series will help the UK's developers and digital publishers prepare for some of the biggest changes seen in the history of our industry."
