Ex-Sega president Hayao Nakayama invests in UK super startup The Secret Police

London-based super startup The Secret Police has announced it's closed an investment round.

It hasn't announced how much money it's raised.

But it is proud to reveal that the investment comes from Amuse Capital Inc, which is the venture fund of former Sega Enterprise president Hayao Nakayama.

Nakayama also founded AQ Interactive, which is now part of the Marvelous Inc group.

Japan led

"We are delighted and honoured to welcome Hayao Nakayama and Amuse Capital as a strategic investor," commented The Secret Police co-founder Harry Holmwood.

"Japan leads the way in the mobile gaming business and there are many lessons for us to learn, and opportunities to explore there. We look forward to launching our first title next year and expanding our business globally from there.

"Having an ally as connected and experienced as Mr Nakayama is a huge step forward for our company."

The Secret Police was founded by Holmwood and ex-Bossa Studio CTO Ric Moore, and is working on its first game, a JRPG-inspired RPG.

It's currently hiring; specifically looking for 2D artists and animators who can create compelling and charming characters.
