It's party (and more) time!

Celebrate Pocket Gamer's 10th Birthday at GDC - and on our sites - from 10 March

Can you remember what you were doing 10 years ago?

I know I sometimes struggle with the last 20 minutes!

However, for the intrepid founding team of Pocket Gamer, come the middle of March the picture will be crystal clear.

We were sat in an office in Bath, England, about to press the button on the launch of Pocket Gamer, the first website that would take mobile games and the business behind them seriously!

Suffice to say we've seen and been through a fair few changes in the intervening decade…

Back in time

When the likes of Rovio, Gameloft, and Glu were creating cracking feature phone games with little love or money in return, we helped promote them on operator decks and in our PG high-street magazine.

When plucky upstart Apple tried to shake things up with a touchscreen device and its own application store, our own app celebrated the arrival of a whole new wave of awesome games from studios like Lima Sky, Halfbrick, Firemint, and ZeptoLab.

We were there when Flight Control launched

We even took the time out to listen to the guys at Supercell, King, and NaturalMotion who wanted to give their games away for free, and let them share their crazy ideas on our b2b channel and networking events.

Celebrate!

Naturally, we’re super proud of the way mobile has become a $30 billion giant and the biggest and fastest growing part of the entire games industry.

And to celebrate whatever small part we've played – and pay homage to all the smart people who've driven this industry forward – we're putting together a month of digital and real-life celebrations running across our sites and events from 10 March.

Join Us!

Suffice to say we'd love you to be part of it and there's a host of ways you can get involved.

If you'd like to attend our GDC 10th anniversary bash then simply sign up.

Should you want to share your memories of the last decade then fill in our form.

Ideally, if you'd like to get more involved with some cool ideas or even a small sponsorship to help us celebrate in style (see some things don't change with time!) - chris@pocketgamer.co.uk

If you are going to GDC, also be aware that aside from the party we'll be running our regular Big Indie Pitch – check it out if you'd like to take part or attend.

And don't worry, our GDC activity is just the start.

But there's plenty to remember for now so more on that in due course…
