Less idle, more RPG

Seriously's clicker sequel Best Fiends Forever returns to soft launch

Seriously's upcoming idle game, Best Fiends Forever, has returned to soft launch after an absence of over two months.

The game was taken off the App Store on April 14. No reason was given for its removal at the time.

But it would appear that the game was removed in order for it to be completely redesigned. An update on July 2 states that "this is a big update that completely revises many of the gameplay mechanics".

Overhaulin'

One of the revisions appears to be removing the rewinding mechanic, now a standard in idle games, which resets players' progress but gives them some kind of advantage to make progression easier.

It also boasts three times as many levels as before, suggesting it might be focusing more on RPG elements and linear progression than typical endless idle game elements.

We'll be keeping an eye on it in our top games in soft launch list, along with a number of other interesting soft-launched titles.
