Rovio cans Siamgame-developed shooter Angry Birds: Ace Fighter in soft launch

"Adjustment of product structure platform" to blame

Rovio cans Siamgame-developed shooter Angry Birds: Ace Fighter in soft launch

Rovio has canned its previously soft-launched shoot-em-up Angry Birds: Ace Fighter.

A message sent out to all players (as reposted on the TouchArcade forums) states that the game will be shut down on 8 October 2016.

It has been removed from stores as of 6 September 2016, "due to the adjustment of product structure platform."

One less angry bird

The game was being developed by Siamgame, and was soft-launched in Singapore in July 2016.

It saw players controlling the Angry Birds in a variety of different planes, taking on the pigs in classic shmup style, with tons of bullets and huge bosses. There was also a two-player mode featured.

What exactly the "product structure platform" is now is anyone's guess, but Rovio still has plenty of other Angry Birds titles in soft launch, including the recently uncovered Angry Birds Evolution.
