Super Mario Run to launch on iOS on December 15th for $10

Nintendo's next smartphone title, Super Mario Run, is expected to launch on December 15th for $9.99.

Nintendo also confirmed that it would cost €9.99 or 1200 yen based on region. According to App Store pricing tiers, it should cost £7.99.

It will launch in 151 countries, including the US, UK, Japan, and mainland Europe. A Korean release is expected in 2017. The game will not launch in China, as discussed by Nintendo previously.

The second game to be published by Nintendo as part of its partnership with DeNA, Super Mario Run is an endless runner designed to be played in portrait mode with one thumb.

One time purchase

The game will launch as a free-to-start title, with unlimited access to a small number of features. Players will then be able to unlock the full title for $9.99.

The system has been designed so that "children can also play it with peace of mind". No other IAPs will be included in the game.

An Android version is still being developed, though a release date has not been announced. It is unlikely to launch before 2017.
