A small victory in a sea of misery

Tiny Lab reclaims rights to its own game from Bulkypix as publisher remains silent on closure

A developer affected by Bulkypix's closure and liquidation has managed to reclaim the rights to its game.

Tiny Lab Productions, developer of Orborun, got the rights back directly from Bulkypix. Its contract stipulated that the developer could reclaim the rights in the case of Bulkypix's closure.

It wasn't an easy process, however, due to the publisher largely going dark since its closure. A number of other developers found their emails bouncing back when they tried to contact Bulkypix following reports of its liquidation.

Tiny Lab may have got lucky on its rights, but it is still waiting for the publisher to send money it owes – and there's no guarantee this will happen.

No money, lots of problems

"They still owe us some money, and their bankruptcy agents are dealing with creditors as far as I understand," Tiny Lab Productions CEO Jonas Abromaitis told Gamasutra.

"The forms that needed to be filled were for the mentioned agents to create the priority list for who the debts should be returned first.

"It is usually the case to wait more than half a year after the liquidation to get your money back and in some cases there might be no leftovers for you... fingers crossed!"
