Subway Surfers still achieving 30 million downloads a month nearly five years after release

Danish developers Kiloo and Sybo Games' Subway Surfers is still achieving 30 million downloads a month five years after release and is on course for its strongest January yet.

Kiloo announced that the game has not dropped out of the top 50 download ranks on either the App Store or Google Play since it launched in 2012.

The game was the most downloaded game in the US on Google Play between December 26th and 28th 2016. It was also the fourth-most downloaded overall app from December 26th to 27th.

Testament to fun

"The continued success of Subway Surfers is testament to its fun, colourful and compelling gameplay, in addition to our amazing team’s ongoing efforts to always provide great new content for our players," said Kiloo's Director of Publishing Jeppe Bisbjerg.

"With the game's fifth birthday coming up in May, Kiloo & Sybo have big plans to keep making our awesome Subway Surfers community happy in 2017 and beyond."

Subway Surfers hit one billion downloads in September 2015. Its success spurred Kiloo on to opening a publishing arm in September 2016.
