Abertay University replaces student competition Dare to be Digital with new Dare Academy

Abertay University has ended its international Dare to be Digital competition and replaced it with a new student design competition called Dare Academy.

The contest is set to take place between July 10th and August 4th, and will six teams of students competing to design, test and create game prototypes.

The three top teams will get to showcase their prototypes at consumer games show EGX, where the overall winner will be chosen.

Paid placements

All three teams will also be given fully funded placements at international games studios in China, India and the US.

Only current Abertay University students are permitted to apply to enter the contest. The deadline for applications is April 24th, 2017.

As a result of the shake-up of the Dare competition, Dundee games event Dare ProtoPlay will no longer run.
