Disney Crossy Road celebrates one year anniversary and 31 million downloads with new toy line

Hipster Whale's licensed game Disney Crossy Road has surpassed 31 million downloads since it first launched in April 2016.

The game is essentially a reskinned version of the original Crossy Road with Disney characters and worlds. It has proven popular with players, with over 170 billion in-game steps taken to date.

Crossy toys

To celebrate its first-year anniversary, Disney has partnered with toy manufacturer Moose Toys to produce a series of Disney Crossy Road-themed toys. The range will be available from April 1st 2017.

The merchandise has been modelled after the blocky art style of the game and comes in a variety of forms including plushes, miniature figurines, and backpack hangers. Prices range from $2.99 to $14.99.

The original Crossy Road was a huge success, scoring over 120 million downloads in its lifetime. Developer Hipster Whale has since established a publishing arm to help push fellow indie developers' games.
