2K Games President Christoph Hartmann departs after 20 years at Take-Two

2K Games President Christoph Hartmann is leaving his position after 20 years of working at Take-Two Interactive.

No reason has been given for his departure, and it is unclear what Hartmann will be moving on to do. Take-Two did tell GamesIndustry.biz that it will not affect any games currently in development.

A new chapter

"For more than a decade, Christoph Hartmann has helped 2K to become an industry leader and we are grateful for his contributions and wish him well on his future endeavors," said Take-Two in a statement.

"This change in leadership will have no impact on 2K's current pipeline of titles in development, and we look forward to this new chapter in the history of our label."

While 2K Games has never made much of a splash on mobile, even when it ported FPS classic BioShock to iOS, its parent company Take-Two is pushing further into the market.

It recently acquired mobile developer Social Point for $250 million to make further inroads into the mobile gaming world.
