Subway Surfers devs face lawsuit for exporting children's personal information to advertisers

Parents in New York and California have filed a class action lawsuit against Kiloo and Sybo claiming that their game Subway Surfers violates privacy protection laws.

The lawsuit alleges that the game exports children's personal information to advertising networks without first asking for their parent's permission. The families are seeking to end this tracking and selling of information.

Numerous other games are also accused of illegal tracking, including Frisbee Forever, Frisbee Forever 2, Spellbinders, Smash Champs, Tesla Tubes, Storm Blades, and Blades of Brim.

The lawsuit is also targeting the advertisers who are being sold to. This includes TapJoy, AdColony, Chartboost, Vungle, IronSource, InMobi, and others.

Subway Surfers is one of the most downloaded mobile games of all time, having surpassed 1 billion downloads in September 2015. As of January 2017, it was still securing an additional 30 million downloads a month.
