Ankama's Drag'n'Boom clears 1.5 million downloads in its first two weeks

Dofus developer Ankama has surpassed 1.5 million downloads of its latest mobile game Drag'n'Boom in its first two weeks of release.

Launched on September 12th 2017, the game has an 4.9 star rating on the App Store from 11,000 ratings. It is set to launch on Android some time in October.

While Ankama is best known for its MMORPGs, Drag'n'Boom is a more casual game about a small dragon. Players fire the dragon around the screen slingshot-style while simultaneously spitting fireballs in a similar fashion.

Using the momentum

"We are very proud of how well Drag'n'Boom has been received by players around the world," said the game's designer Loïc Roger.

"We are going to use this momentum with other in-house teams to test new gameplays and universes."

With its focus on PC browser games, Ankama hasn't made much of a splash in mobile games. We last wrote about the studio in November 2014 when it acquired Japanese social mobile game developer Wizcorp.
