MAG Interactive acquires QuizDuel developer FEO Media for an undisclosed sum

Ruzzle developer MAG Interactive has acquired QuizDuel developer FEO Media for an undisclosed sum.

The acquisition means that MAG will add two new games to its portfolio in the form of QuizDuel and PixDuel. Between them, these games have seen over 100 million downloads.

FEO Media is a Stockholm-based developer that was established back in 2012. It is unclear if any changes will be made at the company following its acquisition.

Expanding footprint

"This is a truly exciting step for MAG. With FEO Media under our wing, we are expanding our footprint and becoming a leader also within the trivia games category. Our player base has now grown significantly, with Monthly Active Users (MAU) exceeding 10 million", said Daniel Hasselberg, CEO of MAG Interactive.

"Now we have four trivia games to complement our strong offering within the word game genre. Together, the games in our portfolio have been downloaded more than 200 million times. With QuizDuel we will now also reach new markets such as Germany and Russia, and in addition can leverage MAG Interactive's strong position in other regions, such as the USA, to improve its reach."

This is MAG Interactive's third acquisition since its inception. Its previous acquistion was back in January 2015, when it picked up Brighton-based studio Delinquent for an undisclosed sum.
