Ever keen to use Twitter to update the press as to Android's growth rate, senior VP of mobile at Google Andy Rubin has stated the firm is now activating more than 500,000 Android devices every day.
That's up from the 400,000 daily rate Google revealed during the firm's I/O conference back in May, and more than doubled the 200,000 devices a day the company was activating last August.
Up on activations
"There are now over 500,000 Android devices activated every day," Rubin tweeted, before adding that said rate is growing by 4.4 percent week over week.
Grouped together, that means Android is growing by 3.5 million units every week and, at this rate, at least 182 million units a year.
Back in May, Google said such activations were spread across 310 licensed devices in 112 different countries around the world.
