iPhone 5S and 5C incoming?

Apple pencils in new iPhone reveals for 10 September
Following weeks of speculation, Apple has confirmed it is to hold a press event on 10 September at the firm's Cupertino campus, with two new iPhone devices expected to be unveiled.

The confirmation has come via invites sent out to key members of the tech press featuring the Apple logo set against multi-coloured circles, signed off with the tag "this should brighten everyone's day."

It's expected that two handsets will be unveiled at the event - which will kick off at 10am Pacific Time - with perhaps most attention being focused on the rumoured launch of the iPhone 5C, the first supposed 'budget' iPhone from Apple.

Indeed, the reference to 'brightening everyone's day' and the colourful nature of the invite could well be nod to the expected multi-coloured nature of the new budget device.

Interestingly, TechCrunch reports a separate invite has been sent out to members of the Chinese press.

The invite features the same graphic, but points to another press event the following day at Beijing's World Trade Center.

This is the first time Apple has held a special event for the Chinese media, raising speculation that the iPhone 5C could be being specifically targeted at the Asian market – one which typically favours cheaper handsets.
