Chillingo has secured the rights to publish the official iPhone and iPad games for forthcoming Fox movie Predators.

The deal, which follows the company's similar arrangement for Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, will see development responsibilities handed over to Angry Mob Games, which has previously enjoyed success on iPhone with Guerrilla Bob.

Hunting a hit

"The Predators franchise is among the world's most popular sci-fi brands and Chillingo is delighted to bring its adrenaline-packed excitement to the Apple App Store," says its head of publishing Johnny Coghlan.

"The film's fast-paced, suspenseful action provides the perfect environment for thrilling gameplay design."

Chillingo says the game will be available in time for the film's debut on July 9th, with Angry Mob Games CEO Bogdan Iiiesiu claiming the title will "immerse fans into the captivating Predators universe and allow them to experience the thrill of a Predator hunt like never before".

Fox Digital's first collaboration with Chillingo - Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs - was a moderate critical and commercial success.
