A 9 year old Malaysian boy living in Singapore has become one of (if not the) youngest iPhone developer in the world, after his art application Doodle Kids was launched at the beginning of February.

Lim Ding Wen has apparently been writing Apple software with his IT programmer father since the age of two, and recently branched out into iPhone development.

He wrote an active, organic art package for his young sisters, which allows them to draw on the screen using a finger. The application draws using random shapes of different sizes and colours, with the screen being cleared by shaking the handset.

User reviews for the free application are already proving very favourable, and according to Ding Wen’s father Lim Thye Chean the youngster is already capable with six different programming languages and they regularly check their statistics to see whose iPhone apps are performing the best.

By all accounts, Ding Wen’s superb gift to the iPhone kids of the world is flying off the App Store shelves. Check it out here, and get ready for some stiff competition from this very talented young hacker.
