Nokia signs exclusive deal to land 25 EA and Chillingo games on Windows Phone

Mirror's Edge, FIFA 12, and Dead Space on the way

Nokia signs exclusive deal to land 25 EA and Chillingo games on Windows Phone
First hinted at back in October during Nokia World 2011, EA has lifted the lid on a deal with the Finnish company that will result in more than 25 of its games making their Windows Phone debut on Lumia handsets.

Nokia has been talking up its partnership with EA on Windows Phone for some months – including a short but sweet mention during the firm's CES 2012 splash - though details as to what it actually comprised of were sketchy.

EA, however, has now released a video showcasing the titles now bound for Lumia devices, including the likes of Mirror's Edge, The Sims: Medieval and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12.

Firing up the platform

First spotted by Symbian Tweet, the video in question has been published on EA Mobile's official YouTube account, and – in the publisher's own words – details "25 of the world's most popular games", including "several titles from independent mobile developers published by Chillingo".

11 games are featured in the video, including titles from the now EA-owned Firemint, Real Racing 2 and Spy Mouse. Other games, such as FIFA 12 and Dead Space, are also reportedly Nokia-bound.

The deal follows on from an initial agreement between the two parties to bring EA's Java line-up to Nokia's Series 40-based Asha handsets.

10 premium games from the publisher were to be pre-loaded onto handsets for free, with EA serving up an additional games package via subscription.

It's not known how long this new deal will stay in place, though it seems likely EA's line-up will be made available other Windows Phone handsets at a later date.
