Everyplay to allow gamers to record their reactions to play

Applifier has unveiled a new addition to its Everyplay video tool that will allow gamers to record footage of themselves whilst simultaneously recording gameplay.

The new tool – branded FaceCam – will tap into the phone or tablet's front-facing camera, overlaying a small thumbnail video of the player's face on top of the gameplay footage.

It's a new feature that, in the eyes of Applifier, should further aid the viral promotion of games, with players voluntarily spreading both game footage and their reaction to it across the web.

Indeed, Applifier already understands the importance of virality for discovery, with the firm having recently reported that word-of-mouth accounts for 57 percent of game discovery.

We recently caught up with Applifier CEO Jussi Laakkonen, who gave us his take on how FaceCam will help games get traction on the market in the video interview below.
