More titles bound for launch in coming months

GREE's US studio unveils second iOS game Alien Family
Japanese social giant GREE's assault on the US market continues, with the firm's San Francisco studio unveiling its second game for iOS.
Alien Family is billed as a "whimsical" adventure where players aid extraterrestrial travellers "create an alien paradise on planet Earth."

Its debut comes little over a week after GREE's US studio pushed out its first release on Apple's platform, with Zombie Jombie having risen up the App Store's rankings to become the top free strategy game on the marketplace.

Jombie jump

Overall, Zombie Jombie reached #9 in the App Store's top free rankings, also hitting #37 in the top grossing rundown in the process.

Both it and Alien Family mark an attempt by GREE to expand its hand in the west ahead of the launch of its social gaming network – based on OpenFeint's existing platform - in Q2 2012.

"GREE's North American studio is focused on creating the best game experiences for mobile players and has plans to release more titles in the upcoming months," the company said in a statement.

"The new GREE platform will feature high-quality content and a robust social gaming experience, inviting users to play games with and against their friends and join and interact with a global mobile gaming community."
