At the beginning of May, a new Android unconsole appeared to challenge Ouya.
Bluestacks' GamePop looks a bit like Ouya, and in terms of functionality it's similar too as it aims to bring the Android gaming experience to smart TVs.
But there are some differences between the two unconsoles.
The GamePop offers a $6.99 monthly subscription-based all-you-can-eat gaming model, which brings unmodified Android games to the platform.
Developers have to modify their games for Ouya's controller, while consumers buy games piecemeal - although many Ouya games will be free-to-play, and even paid titles will have a free trial mode.
Content support
To further strengthen GamePop's position in the emerging unconsole war, Bluestacks announced that Korea's largest publisher Com2uS and education app developer Intellijoy are now on board.
Intellijoy will bring $30 worth of paid titles to GamePop, which users can play at no additional cost once the subscription fee is paid.
Com2uS, meanwhile, will have its own channel in the GamePop's UI.
Finally, GamePop announced a retail price for its Android unconsole - $129, which is $30 more expensive than Ouya.
Due to a strong demand for pre-orders, however, Bluestacks notes that the pre-order scheme to GamePop for free has been extended to the end of June.
GamePop isn't expect to be released until the winter, however.
