Swap shop: Free-to-play tool to allow gamers to sell in-game items
Social gaming trading platform SwapMob has unveiled a new service designed to aid free-to-play gamers buy and sell in-game items amongst other players.

The service acts a massive, cross-platform auction house, handing players the option to sell their items either to friends, or to the highest bidder.

For developers, building SwapMob into their titles is pitched as an easy process, requiring only the integration of the SwapMob API into live or in-development games.

Three for all

Currently three titles - Drive or Die 3, Game Ventures, and Cristiano Ronaldo Footy – have SwapMob built into them across Android and Facebook, though iOS support has also been proffered.

SwapMob comes to market following a successful $1 million round of seed funding lead by games industry veteran Bernard Stolar.

Speaking on SwapMob, Stolar claims that the platform "increases the numbers of players spending money in free-to-play games and the amount of money spent by existing players, and drives new users to new games through item recommendation and currency conversion."
