Microsoft launches real rewards scheme for Windows Phone devs in UK
Microsoft has unveiled a refreshed rewards scheme to encourage mobile developers across the UK to support Windows Phone.

The scheme revolves around a points system, where developers add to their tally by publishing 'original and unique' apps on Windows Phone Marketplace.

Real rewards

Essentially, developers earn 1 point for every app delivered to the platform, with a total of 4 points available throughout the course of the programme.

Prizes – which range from Xbox 360 controls and 12 month Xbox Live Gold membership for 1 point to a free Nokia Lumia 800 and helicopter lessons for 4 points – are accessible 7-10 days after the apps in the question have been assessed and published.

"This programme is designed to reward and celebrate UK developers who have taken the time and effort to develop and publish great Windows Phone apps into the Windows Phone Marketplace," states Microsoft on the website.

"You develop great and unique applications for the Windows Phone Marketplace in the UK, and we reward you for doing a great job."

For each application you create and successfully publish onto the Windows Phone Marketplace, we will review the application and if it meets the requirements, we will award a point for you to later redeem.

The rewards programme will run until 12 August, and is only available to UK residents. More details can be found on the Windows Phone Rewards website.
