Mobile network-equipped games system supported by telecom magnate

America Movil teams with Qualcomm for Zeebo console launch in Mexico
We already heard that Qualcomm's Mike Yuen had been drafted in to help with the low-cost, mobile network-connected games console Zeebo, after the company invested $5.5 million in the new games machine.

It now seems Qualcomm is calling upon another old partnership to help deliver the Zeebo console to Mexico. The region's largest service provider, America Movil (which is believed to operate 80 per cent of the Mexican mobile market), will be supporting the device through its extensive network.

Zeebo it is also partly funded by Brazilian toys and games manufacturer TecToy, intended to provide a low-cost games system with easily distributed BREW content provided over the 3G network in emerging territories.

Despite targeting such territories, the system is also gaining global interest, as San Diego-based Qualcomm's efforts clearly demonstrate.
