Apple's iAd is gaining major traction in the US, with the platform set to draw level with Google over the course of the next few months.
That's according to an IDC forecast obtained by Bloomberg, with both parties predicted to account for market leading shares in the mobile advertising world of 21 percent each by the end of 2010.
Such a figure would represent a fall for Google, with 2009's combined share with AdMob being 27 percent.
Eating up its rivals
The launch of iAd has naturally resulted in all the major players conceding ground.
IDC predicts Yahoo! will have the third largest share by the time 2010 draws to a close, accounting for 9 percent of the market. That's down from 2009's total of 12 percent.
Microsoft's share will suffer similarly, falling from 10 percent to 7 percent, while Nokia will almost be eradicated entirely, dropping from 5 percent to 2 percent in the next few months.
However, despite such growth, IDC's figures don't match the commanding 48 percent share of all advertising spend Apple CEO Steve Jobs predicted the network would snap up in the latter half of 2010.
