Partnership with ExtendLogic to provide PC ports

Critical Thinking to bring edutainment titles to iPhone
For the thousands of apps currently on the App Store, there are surprisingly few educational games available. The Critical Thinking Co. is looking to change that in a new partnership with ExtendLogic, which aims to bring the TCTC’s catalogue of educational PC games to the iPhone.

"This strategic partnership was an easy decision,” says Nile Duppstadt, vice president of TCTC. “The mobile touch market has experienced rapid growth and the medium offers incredible possibilities for delivering effective and highly engaging educational content everywhere.

"The majority of our sales are generated from PC games and books, but we envision the cutting edge technology becoming more of a mainstay in the delivery of dynamic educational experiences at home and in the classroom.”

He raises a fascinating point. Could the iPhone and its like be transposed into the classroom, as an active alternative to a text book or some kind of high tech slate and chalk? Given the right set up and proper teach/student integration, it’s easy to see the collective educational possibilities of the iPhone.

TCTC has a long history of providing solutions for both the classroom and home tutoring, and has received recognition from organisations like Mensa for its educational software and books.

“These next few months will be exciting for EL and TCTC,” continues David Cao of ExtendLogic. “The two companies have been working together on Web, network, PC, and mobile games for almost 4 years.

"This new effort extends from EL’s strong iPhone development experiences, online poker game experiences, and our combined educational game experiences. This will make a strong presence in iPhone’s educational game market for both ExtendLogic and TCTC. Meanwhile, ExtendLogic also plans to port its casual games to iPhone and Android.”
