Advertising campaign to get its own multiplayer app

Coca-Cola entering the iPhone business
Sponsored and promotional applications have been cropping up a lot on the iPhone, and haven’t necessarily been the blatant, gaudy product placements we expected them to be. Coca-Cola is now set to join the fraternity of iPhone developers as it brings its Happiness Factory campaign to the App Store.

The 2006 advertising campaign was Coca-Cola’s most successful of all time, and saw considerable success as a game built around Microsoft Messenger.

“The original ad was probably the most successful ad in the history of the company in terms of video pick up, so we're hoping to do it again with this third ad,” says interactive marketing manager Miguel Moreno Toscano.

The ad follows the adventures of a Coke bottle through a fantasy world inside a vending machine, and it’s this aspect that will form the core of the iPhone multi-player Coke game.

The game is expected in the next couple of weeks to coincide with the worldwide launch of the new ad campaign.

Yes. Spanner's his real name. And, yes, he's heard that joke before.
