That's why PocketGamer.biz has decided to launch the Jobs Board, a directory of mobile games companies that are currently hiring, organised by location.

Often, the first step on the ladder is the hardest.

But a great way to get a foot in the door is through internships, and thankfully the games industry has no shortage of these opportunities available.

It's worth contacting companies directly to enquire about such opportunities, as they're not always listed or part of a formalised programme. But to start you off on your search, here are some selected internships:
