How can we shine a spotlight on the burgeoning but lesser-known African gaming industry? That was the question on the minds of AGW Co-Founders, Nick Hall and Rex Bowden, as they attended events like GDC, GamesCon, Paris Games Week, and others. They realised that the international gaming market had little understanding of Africa’s gaming scene. This led to the concept of an event in South Africa that would unite African gaming talent, including studio heads, developers, industry professionals, and newcomers, to showcase the excellence of Africa’s gaming industry.
Thus, they took action, creating a central hub to connect, engage, and foster the growth of the African gaming industry.
