DiGRA 2026, taking place 14–18 June 2026 at Maynooth University in Maynooth, Ireland, brings together the global game‑studies community for five days of research, discussion, and critical exploration. This year’s theme, “Intersectional Pleasures,” invites scholars to examine how digital games enable, mediate, or restrict pleasure across identity, genre, platform, and politics. Set in Ireland’s only university town—just outside Dublin—the conference blends academic depth with a historic, walkable setting filled with cultural landmarks, including the Russell Library and medieval castle ruins.

Supported by Maynooth University’s Arts & Humanities Institute, Computer Science, and Media Studies departments, DiGRA 2026 features peer‑reviewed papers, workshops, exhibitions, and community‑building events. A diverse local organising team of researchers and practitioners ensures a rich, inclusive programme that reflects the evolving landscape of game studies. With international scholars, early‑career researchers, and industry voices all contributing, the conference offers a vibrant space for advancing critical conversations about games and play.
