The annual Italian event dedicated to video games as a resource for telling the story of the territory and cultural heritage makes another stop in Trieste, on Friday 1 and Saturday 2 November, guest once again of the Trieste Science+Fiction Festival, the most important Italian event dedicated to science fiction.

The 2024 edition will be held inside the Sci-Fi Dome set up in the historic Piazza della Borsa, in the center, a few steps from Piazza della Repubblica. The event, with free admission by registration, is aimed at enthusiasts, students and those institutions (museums, local authorities, cultural institutions, associations) interested in learning more about the dissemination opportunities of the video game.

Numerous themes will be the protagonists of the 2024 edition. From tributes to two great protagonists of the world of literature and science to the different forms of tourism through the media. Science fiction will also return to being a lens through which to observe reality – between political, religious and philosophical implications – without forgetting, of course, the influence of artificial intelligence. After the success of last year's round table, we will talk again about criticism and its role; There will also be space to discuss videogame preservation, to visit small alpine villages, to give voice to professionals in the sector and famous Italian masks. Two meetings organized in collaboration with the London Games Festival and IN/VISIBIL3 are also planned. During the event, the winners of the IVIPRO 2024 Award for the best degree theses on the video game will be announced. A special event is also planned in the room: what happens when a group of gamers decides to stage Hamlet within the digital world of Grand Theft Auto Online? A decidedly original bet, told in Grand Theft Hamlet, a machinima feature film directed by Sam Crane and Pinny Grylls and awarded at the South by Southwest Festival in Austin.

The in-person event on 1 and 2 November will be preceded by an online preview, live on the Facebook and YouTube channels of the IVIPRO Association, a series of meetings that will be held from mid to late October. A preview of what awaits the public in Trieste.

The event is promoted by the IVIPRO Association and the Trieste Science+Fiction Festival and is organized in collaboration with the London Games Festival and IN/VISIBIL3.
