Women in Games has announced the return of its flagship and award-winning Careers Expo, a global, online event dedicated to empowering women and gender-diverse talent across the games industry.

Taking place on March 26th on Women in Games’ intuitive RingCentral virtual platform, the event is free to attend, spans all international time zones, and will once again connect thousands of attendees with studios, publishers, service providers and specialist partners from around the world.

With the games industry experiencing unprecedented turbulence over the past two years – including layoffs, studio closures and rapid technological change – the 2026 Women in Games Careers Expo will place a strong focus on the future of work. Women have been disproportionately affected by this volatility, making access to skills, networks and new career pathways more critical than ever.

Over the past couple of years, the event has attracted around 1,500 women and allies from around the world, and 2026 is set to build on that momentum with an even broader international reach.

Exploring the Future of Work in Games

The 2026 conference programme is built around the key forces reshaping careers in games, with sessions, talks and learning labs focused on five core themes:

  • AI, Creativity & New Career Possibilities – supporting hybrid creative and technical roles, ethical AI use and future workflows
  • Entrepreneurship, Micro-Studios & Owning Your Path – guidance on indie development, funding, IP ownership and sustainable independent careers
  • Leadership & Women Founding and Leading Studios – showcasing leadership journeys and the structural change needed to support women into senior roles
  • Inclusive, Ethical & Safe Workplaces – promoting cultures built on fairness, safety, belonging and wellbeing
  • New Creative Frontiers & Expanding Markets – from cozy and lifestyle games to health, education, community and climate-focused projects

Together, these themes reflect how the industry is evolving – and how women can build resilient, meaningful and future-ready careers within it.

A Global, Accessible Careers Experience

Delivered entirely online, the Women in Games Careers Expo runs across Asia-Pacific, EMEA and the Americas, with a cascading schedule and on-demand access ensuring that anyone, anywhere in the world can take part.

At the heart of the day is the Virtual Expo Area – a dynamic, interactive environment where studios, publishers, service providers and specialist organisations come together to provide direct career support. Attendees will be able to access:

  • CV and portfolio reviews
  • Live studio Q&As and role introductions
  • Advice on entering, progressing or transitioning within the industry
  • Guidance on freelancing, indie development and micro-studio creation
  • Presentations and demos showcasing teams, cultures and opportunities

This action-driven space is designed to give attendees personalised, practical insight into the many ways a career in games can be built in 2026 and beyond.

Dr Marie-Claire Isaaman, CEO of Women in Games, said: “The games industry is going through a profound transformation – and women are too often the first to feel the impact of instability, restructuring and bias. The Women in Games Careers Expo: The Future of Work is about turning that challenge into opportunity. By focusing on the future of work – from AI and new creative roles to entrepreneurship and ethical leadership – we are giving women and gender-diverse talent the tools, confidence and connections they need not just to survive, but to shape what comes next for our industry.”

The Women in Games Careers Expo: The Future of Work is free to attend, but space is limited, so register your place now.

The event is free, though donations during registration would be much appreciated.
