Gamescom week preview: Who’s looking to make a splash at the show?

The PocketGamer.biz team has landed in Cologne for Gamescom week. Ahead of the show, we took a cheeky walk around the Koelnmesse to get an early look at what big names and games are looking to make a splash at the show.
First up - at the Confex where the business-focused conference Devcom is taking place, games and companies airing video promotions across the front of the complex include AWS, Asphalt (Gameloft) and Meta.
And, of course, Xsolla is all over the event lanyards. We wrote last year how big a presence the firm had across Cologne during Gamescom week.
If you’re heading to Devcom, check out our top session picks here.

At the North Entrance, where many of the consumers will gather for the show, big game promotions include Astragon Entertainment’s Firefighting Simulator Ignite, Krafton’s Inzoi, Sega’s Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, Funcom’s Dune Awakening, and MachineGames’ Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Other games and companies on show are Ubisoft’s Anno 117: Pax Romana, Capcom’s Resident Evil Requiem, Supermassive Games’ Little Nightmares III, Xbox, Purple Lamp’s SpongeBob SquarePants Titans of the Tide, and Blizzard’s World of WarCraft Midnight.

While promotions heavily lean toward PC and console titles, there’s also been some room for mobile. Tencent’s Honor of Kings: World and Huawei’s AppGallery also feature outside the Koelnmesse North entrance.

Outside of the East entrance, there was a large promo for Bloober Team’s Cronos: The New Dawn, right next to a busy road and tramline. Around the corner was an ad for Gearbox’s Borderlands 4, as well as more nearby promos for Sonic Racing and Anno 117.

We’ll be on the Devcom and Gamescom showfloor this week, where we’ll offer more insights on who’s making a splash inside the conference and expo.
Uodate: On the first day of Devcom, the Confex video screen showed trailers for a number of games, including Supercell's Squad Busters, Scopely's Monopoly Go, Epic Games' Fortnite, Roblox, and more.
