The mission of IGDA Finland is to promote the development of careers and professional skills of individual game developers (and individuals of related industries) based in Finland, and to further develop the international recognition of the Finnish game developer community. To this end it supports the operation of local hubs – IGDA Finland was founded in 2012 to support the local game development hubs on a national level.
In 2011 the Finnish Game Cluster (IGDA Finland, Neogames Finland and Suomen Pelinkehittäjät ry) received the Internationalization Award of the President of Finland. IGDA Finland has also been recognized as one of the most vibrant and fastest growing chapters by the IGDA, awarded the IGDA MVP Award in 2007.
