Quality Index's top-reviewed iPhone games of the week: Disc Drivin' and Bug Heroes

Welcome to the weekly iPhone Quality Index (Qi) games round-up, giving you the LOWdown on the HIGH scorers every Friday on these illustrious pages.
As you may already know, Qi trawls the web for iPhone game reviews from the worlds most respected online and print sources.
Qi then applies its own magic formula to each site (such as 148Apps, IGN, and Gamezebo) to establish a single definitive Qi score for each iPhone game.
Brake discs
Accelerating through the App Stores gates and into contention on Qis highly competitive circuit this week careers the turn-based racer Disc Drivin, picking up momentum and acclaim for a supreme 9.0 score.
Multiplayer mayhem is very much the order of the day, as you challenge three other disc 'jockeys' across a racetrack positively brimming with obstacles, namely jumps, edgeless walls, and bumpers.
Despite narrowly missing out on a Qi podium finish, Pixelocity Softwares fast-paced flicking fun roared into the heart and mind of Slide to Play, who promptly noted the well-intended catch-up system:
Falling behind isnt always terrible. Those behind first place get the benefit of a faster-filling power meter. Weve been in races where we were half a lap or more behind an opponent and then come back for the win.
Buggy as hell
Combining tower defence, insects, and twin-stick shooting doesnt seem the most obvious route to iPhone prosperity, yet Foursaken Medias blend of action and adventure has mashed up many of its rivals on the Qi chart.
Five strategically worded reviews from around the iOS universe have earned Bug Heroes a gallant 8.5 Qi score, enough to inspire your Spider assassin, heavily armoured Beetle, and machine gun wielding Ant engineer against a swarm of starving pests.
You can set traps with proximity mines, equip yourself with special items such as a can-lid shield, or simply slow down time to stampede through the salivating arthropods. All in a heroic fashion, of course.
In this epic two-faction war, food and experience points are the only currency of import, the latter defined by Gamezebo serving to let you level up at key points. At this point you can choose to improve one of four areas pertaining to endurance, movement and attack effectiveness.
You can get up-to-date information about which games are reviewing best over at the Quality Index.
