abphone signs deals with Glu, Twistbox and Hovr

French mobile content search engine abphone has announced deals with three mobile games firms: Glu Mobile, Twistbox and Hovr.

The contracts will allow abphone to index the publishers' catalogues for its search engine, joining its existing deal with Gameloft.

abphone says it's currently racking up more than 100 million page views a month among its users, who conducted more than 500 million searches on the service in 2008.

"Our free business model allows any publisher in entertainment content to index their products for nothing, since abphone is ad-funded," says co-founder Pierre Scokaert.

"This is why we are successful with content publishers on the one hand, and with users on the other hand. Soon we will announce two big brands, which will definitely make abphone the world leader in mobile games search."

The company will be announcing new vertical search services at the Mobile World Congress show in Barcelona next week.
