It's been one of the most melodramatic disputes in mobile history, yet since Apple lifted its ban on developers using thirdparty tools on iOS, the previously fiery exchanges between Adobe and Jobs and co. have all but extinguished.

So tepid is the situation now, in fact, that rather than publish any sort of 'I told you so' speech or victory dance, Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen had very little to say when questioned on the matter.

When asked his view on Apple's decision to allow developers to use its Flash packager for iPhone, he said the move had had only a minimal impact on the firm's business.

Anything for a quiet life"What we did see was that the day Apple announced the removal of the licensing restrictions that a number of people who had created products using our tool submitted that to the Apple Store and were approved," Narayen said in a conference call question and answer session.

"I think it just continues to reflect the opportunity which we have with our tools, which is to help designers and developers continue to develop their applications and content in our tools and repurpose it to multiple different output media.

"In the short run, I would say the impact was muted."

Browser block

Earlier this month, Adobe released an official statement welcoming the move by Apple, but added that Flash is still blocked on iOS browsers.

"This is great news for developers and we're hearing from our developer community that Packager apps are already being approved for the App Store," the company stated.

"We do want to point out that Apple's restriction on Flash content running in the browser on iOS devices remains in place."
