The first in what is being billed as a series of releases, indie outfit Incinerator Studios has announced a strategic partnership with Alderac Entertainment Group (AEG) to bring the firm's Nightfall series to iOS.

The horror action release will be developed as a universal app for Apple's platform, but future releases will also wrap up other, yet to be assigned mobile formats.

"AEG has been a leader in tabletop gaming for nearly two decades, and we are excited to be bringing some of their key properties into the digital realm," said Incinerator CEO and president Joel Goodman.

"From day one, AEG saw the potential in mobile board games and TCGs, and we look forward to collaborating in this space."

Table top tablets

The agreement between the two parties is set to focus on iPad, however, owing to its suitability for AEG's board game-style releases.

"The first time I held an iPad I knew I was holding the future," added AEG CEO Joes Zinser.

"AEG is very excited to enter into a partnership with Incinerator Studios. We think they have a great vision for bringing table top games to this exciting and growing platform.

"We expect this partnership will do more than just provide a new way to enjoy AEG games. Our shared vision is much bigger and exciting."

The deal follows on from similar agreements with table top companies such as Cryptozoic Entertainment and Plaid Hat Games.
