Rewarded play platform Almedia has been named Europe’s third fastest-growing company in the FT1000 listing.

The FT1000 is compiled annually by the Financial Times and Statista. It ranks Europe’s fastest-growing companies based on three-year average revenue growth.

Almedia’s inclusion highlights its 18,773.2% growth between 2020 and 2023. Its Freecash platform boasts over 35 million users earning rewards like Netflix and Amazon gift cards by completing in-game missions and surveys.

Its position on the list also ranks the firm as the fastest-growing advertising company in the region.

Founded by CEO Moritz Holländer and headquartered in Berlin, Germany, Almedia has grown to 80 employees as of February 2025.

Investing in people and technology

“Almedia’s inclusion in this year’s FT1000 and continued rapid growth reflects the new reality that audiences now expect rewards from their digital interactions – and advertisers are taking note," said Almedia CEO and founder Moritz Holländer.

“It also proves that, with the right fusion of great people and great tech, it’s still possible to grow innovative, tech-driven companies in Europe.

“We will continue to invest in both our people and our technology to achieve our goal of becoming the smartest way advertisers can spend their digital ad budgets.”

We spoke with Holländer last year to discuss the company’s rapid rise, the emergence of rewarded play, and his plans for the firm’s future.
