Analyst suggests 900 per cent Android market increase

Google hasnt seen the uptake it expected from its open-source Android platform, though much of this appears to be down to mobile carrier's concerns over the systems viability.
Its also taken a long time for the T-Mobile G1 to be joined on the market by any other Android powered handsets, but now Vodafones Magic handset is out, analysts are expecting the Android market to grow an astonishing 900 per cent.
More Android handsets are also due for launch, which will provide the backbone for several companys entry into the vital smartphone market, but this massive increase is likely to be coming from other sources, too.
A new generation of net books and media pads are expected to make significant use of the Android platform, and there are even suggestions that the operating system is being adapted for use in devices such as televisions and VoIP phones.
Its clear that the adaptability and availability of the Android OS is very appealing to electronics manufacturers, and could be used to really unlock the potential of a great many devices - its just not looking as though those devices are going to be smartphones.
