Android Donut dated for Vodafone Magic roll-out

Android Cupcake made significant improvements to Google's handheld operating system, bringing it very much in line with features found on rival systems such as the iPhone, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile

The next major update, nicknamed Donut, has been given a roll out date of October 19th for Vodafone's exclusive HTC Magic handset.

The major improvements promised are a much-needed revamp of the Android Marketplace application, improved search functions within the handsets and data and online, increased speed in the camera application and the intriguing introduction of gesture controls providing quick access to applications.

Android Donut will also include a multilingual text-to-speech function available in English, and Spanish.
