Android Market gets $200 I Am Richer app

Remember that I Am Rich app that launched on the App Store last year for $999, but was swiftly taken down by Apple? You know, the one that just showed a red jewel on-screen.

Well, Android now has its own version. Weirdly, it's called I Am Richer, even though it's a quarter of the price - $200.

This time it shows a blue diamond rather than a red gem, and invites purchasers to "prove your wealth to others by running this app and showing them the mesmerizing glowing crystal".

Quite. But as VentureBeat points out, the app raises an important question of whether Google will follow Apple's policy of removing it from the store, or whether it'll leave it be.

One interesting element is Android Market's 24-hour grace period for returning apps and getting your money back. That should mean it's possible to buy I Am Richer, prove your wealth to as many people as you want that day, then get your money back and bask in the kudos.
