Android sales outstrip all other T-Mobile handsets

T-Mobile has proudly announced that the first ever Android powered handset, the G1 (sold exclusively through T-Mobile) is close to clocking up 100,000 sales in the UK.
This figure is likely to be reached within the handsets first six months, which, according to T-Mobile, means its outstripped sales of all its other handsets.
At the beginning of May, G1 users (both new and existing) will be vicariously celebrating the impressive sales figure by receiving the 1.5 Cupcake software update, which T-Mobile hopes will keep the G1 competitive with the imminent arrival of more Android phones.
Vodafone has landed the rights to the G1s successor, the HTC Magic, though T-Mobile has announced that it has a new Android handset ready for launch this summer.
