Apple adds Game Center indicator to titles in App Store

Though Game Center titles are already listed in a dedicated promoted list on the App Store, Apple has now added individual indicators that show up on each game's page on the marketplace.

Titles that support the platform are marked by a Game Center icon that appears in the top right when viewed in iTunes.

Gaining exposure

Visibility is naturally key for Game Center's growing catalogue of titles, with the majority of releases on rival networks OpenFeint, Crystal and the like featuring the platform's logo on the app icon itself.

Game Center has no such set up. Apple's previous approach has been to rely on the network's pre-installed status on iOS to encourage users to seek out titles for themselves.

However, as reported by 9to5Mac, while the new icons are emblazoned all over games on iTunes, set up is yet to appear within the mobile version of the App Store.
